Two of the Best Bacon Hacks We Know

Two of the Best Bacon Hacks We Know

Two things are true...
1. Most folks love bacon
And 2. It can make a mess and smell up the kitchen

And because we love bacon as much as we do, we cook it a lot. One’s daily bacon habit can be bolstered by a good plan that saves time in the long run and keeps the mess to a minimum.

Par-cooked bacon is a breakfast’s best friend. We know that eggs only take a few minutes… and now bacon can too if you have a bunch par-cooked and saved in the fridge. All you’ll need to do is pull a few pieces out and cook for 3 minutes or so in a heavy bottomed, hot pan.. and if you don’t have one of these, the oven or a microwave will serve it up hot too.

And even better than the par-cooked bacon hack is our favorite way of saving bacon fat: in ice cube trays.

We know a lot of us grew up with either an old coffee can full of bacon fat or a cast iron skillet full of yesterday’s bacon grease sitting in the kitchen. This hack brings that old tradition and time saver into today’s home kitchens. When done in advance it keeps the portion size to an easy and measurable amount and saves the garbage bag from a hole being burnt in it when you pour hot fat outa the pan after breakfast.

Onward and upward Bacon Lovers. We hope these tips save you some time.
