Denver might be known for gorgeous mountains, but it's also standing out on this year's Inc. 5000 list as a keen jumping off point for some of the country's fastest-growing companies. Colorado companies received $793.1 million in venture capital investment last year, and as its largest city, Denver is seeing a lot of the action. These are the top 10 fastest-growing private companies on this year's Inc. 5000 list: 10. Tender Belly At No. 698, this company is bringing home the bacon--in more ways than one. A specialty pork seller, Tender Belly has a 2014 revenue of $4.3 million and a three-year growth rate of 649 percent. Co-founder Shannon Duffy credits a foodie culture in Denver for Tender Belly's success. "I think that one of the reasons it blossomed out here is that people appreciate more good stuff, and less crap," he says. 9. InternetReputation.com An online PR firm, InternetReputation.com lands at No. 583 on this year's Inc. 5000 list with a three-year growth rate of 793 percent and a 2014 revenue of $3.7 million. The five-year-old company is led by CEO Logan Chierotti. 8. Swiftpage No. 548 Swiftpage is making a killing in the software business, with a three-year growth rate of 847 percent and a 2014 revenue of $49.8 million. A provider of customer relationship management software, Swiftpage is led by CEO John Oechsle. 7. Altitude Digital As its name suggests, Altitude Digital is setting its sights on high growth. With a three-year growth rate of 893 percent and a 2014 revenue of $49.8 million, this advertising representative firm doesn't disappoint. The company landed at No. 518 on this year's Inc. 5000 list. 6. Stoneside Blinds & Shades This company's custom-made blinds and shades have translated into big sales. Stoneside Blinds & Shades booked $6.5 million in 2014 revenue, and has a three-year growth rate of 995 percent--good enough to grab the No. 464th spot on this year's Inc. 5000. 5. Survtech Solutions Surveying and mapping company Survtech Solutions does business in 22 states west of the Mississippi, making Denver--only a two hour flight away from many major cities in the Western U.S.--the best location to do business, according to CEO Matthew Barr. This six-year old company holds No. 361 on the Inc. 5000, with a three-year growth rate of 1,307 percent and a 2014 revenue of $2.4 million. 4. Craftsy Craftsy has taken long-time hobbies--quilting, knitting, drawing, painting, etc.--and turned them into a big business, by offering online crafting classes to customers. The No. 293 company on this year's Inc. 5000 has a three-year growth rate of 1,553 percent and a 2014 revenue of $3.9 million. 3. Welltok Colorado is consistently ranked as one of the healthiest states in the nation, making Denver an ideal place for health companies to take off, like No. 235 Welltok. This six-year-old business provides consumers with personalized guidance and incentives to optimize their health through their "CaféWell Health Optimization Platform." Welltok has a three-year growth rate of 1,876 percent and a 2014 revenue of more than $10 million. 2. UrgentRx No. 168 UrgentRx is a pharmeceutical company that sells a line of portable OTC medications in flavored powder form. This four-year-old company is led by CEO Jordan Eisenberg, and has a three-year growth rate of 2,439 percent, and a revenue of nearly $3.7 million in 2014. 1. Acoma Energy The fastest-growing company in Denver on this year's Inc. 5000 list is No. 54, Acoma Energy. The company locates and acquires properties for oil and gas companies, primarily in the Permian Basin and the Rocky Mountain Region. Acoma Energy has a 2014 revenue of $11.8 million and a three-year growth rate of 4,908 percent. A Texas transplant who was tired of the work-eat-sleep-repeat cycle, CEO Matthew Anderson credits the tranquil landscape of Denver and Colorado for helping him recharge and rediscover his passion for the oil and gas business. "Here, it's about life first and work second," he says.
